Apple iOS didn't come to Qt 5.0 in part due to issues in sorting out their JavaScript engine and what's allowed by Apple on their mobile platform. Tor Arne Vestb? of Digia shared this morning now that they're looking to merge their initial iOS work for Qt 5.1. "We're ready to merge the initial iOS work that's been going on in the
'ios' branch...We'll get back to you with a wiki-entry describing in more detail which features and examples are expected to work in the iOS tech preview once we're closer to the 5.1 release."
The merge should happen this week due to the feature freeze coming up. Tor said, "the plan is to merge these initial changes before the freeze on Friday."
The iOS Qt5 port is just under 4,000 lines of new code. These Qt iOS plans were shared in this mailing list post.
Qt 5.1 should be released in April and will also carry some new Qt modules as part of this first major update to Qt5. There's also improving Qt Wayland support coming in this next release.
