FAIRFIELD, Conn. ? Michael C. Lengel III of Fairfield died suddenly on Dec. 7. He was 50.
Born Feb. 23, 1962, Lengel was a Fairfield resident for most of his life. He graduated from Fairfield Prep and earned a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering from Stanford University. He later received an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
Most recently, Lengel founded Buffalo Strategy Services, where he was a senior vice president. He was founder and president of Autus Strategy Consulting and previously held executive positions at Peppers and Rogers Group, Monitor Group and the Michael Allen Company.
His greatest pleasure was watching his daughter grow up, his family said. He coached her in tennis and encouraged her love of music. He had a passion for food and wine and was never afraid to try something exotic.
When he wasn?t traveling, he enjoyed reading about history, spending time outdoors, playing golf and sailing on his boat. He was a member of Greenfield Hill Congregational Church in Fairfield.
Lengel is survived by his parents, Michael C. Lengel Jr. and Constance Ryder Lengel; his daughter, Alexandra Lengel; his friend and ex-wife, Barbara Lisi, of Fairfield; a sister, Allison (Jerry) Sanfilippo, of San Diego; a niece and a nephew.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Greenfield Hill Congregational Church. Lesko and Polke Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
