DETROIT -- General Motors is unveiling the 2014 Corvette Stingray. It's the first all-new version of the car in 9 years. The Corvette is only made in one spot and that's Bowling Green, Kentucky. GM made a substantial investment in the plant to start producing the new vehicle. It goes on sale this fall.
In addition to the sleek appearance, designers have been working on mileage. Aluminum has replaced steel to make the car lighter. The engine can run on four cylinders at highway speeds to use less gas. Testing is still being done, but GM says mileage will be better than the current 16 mpg in the city and 26 on the highway
The price has not been unveiled yet. The current Corvette starts at nearly $50,000.
